This is a one of a kind, handcrafted Black Walnut live edge desk, constructed with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. This project was truly a labor of love. Every "flaw" of these natural slabs was embraced and highlighted throughout the build process.
This desk measures 78’’ Long x 28’’ Wide x 30’’ Tall. There is 62’’ between the legs.
The top is built with two live-edge Black Walnut slabs, joined in the center. The slabs have gorgeous color and grain patterns. The cracks on the ends were stabilized with a pearlescent black epoxy and maple bowties.
The desk features a pair of handcrafted black walnut legs. The sculptural style legs pair perfectly with the natural curves of the live edge slabs. The legs feature leveling glides on the bottom, to make the desk level with your floors.
To maintain a flat tabletop over seasonal humidity changes, angle iron supports have been routed into the underside of the table and secured with threaded inserts and 1/4’’ bolts.
The desk top was sanded to 1500 grit, resulting in a lustrous, polished surface. The table top and legs were finished with Odie’s Oil Universal Finish which is an all-natural, durable, and waterproof finish.
The price is $2,000 plus sales tax. The desk can be picked up from my wood shop or delivered for a small fee, based on where you are located.
