These end-grain cutting boards are made from Tigerwood, a very dense and durable hardwood from South America. End-grain cutting boards are uniquely resilient to daily use, due to the orientation of the grain. With edge-grain cuttings boards, the knife tends to sever the wood fibers. This is what sets end-grain cutting boards apart; the knife cannot sever the fibers since they are oriented vertically, which allows the board to last many more years, while maintaining a nearly flawless appearance, even with frequent use.
Each cutting board features hand grooves sculpted into each end. Rubber feet have been installed onto the undersides of the boards to keep them from sliding during use. Brass screws have been used to prevent corrosion.
Care instructions will be included with each purchase. Butcher block conditioner can be purchased for an additional $10, upon request.
